VIRTUAL OR VIDEO SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
In addition to live/in-person presentations the 2024 conference will allow virtual attendance where authors may present submit a video of their presentation. We only allow asynchronous presentation via video format (i.e. MP4) to be played on April 3, 2024. The reason for this is due to unreliability in Wi-Fi, even in big cities like New York. You can dial into your presentation and answer questions via phone as your video is played live from the room computer.
Preparing a video of a presentation is actually very simple using modern software. After you submit your paper and get approval you will ultimately need to submit a video of your presentation.
IF YOU ARE CHOOSING ASYNCHRONOUS
Strategy #1: Use Screenpal to capture audio/video
Screenpal.com is very easy and can be fully free if your presentation is under 15 minutes. You pay a very small annual fee to have a longer presentation. You prepare a visual of your presentation (i.e. Powerpoint). You then turn on Screenpal. It allows you to define exactly what part of your screen you want captures as a video (i.e. PowerPoint slide). You then press record and present as normal. The software turns your screen into a video and captures your audio, resulting in an MP4 video that can easily be submitted via email or wetransfer.com
Strategy #2: PowerPoint Video
You can add audio clips to each slide in PowerPoint to produce a 'video' with audio of your presentation.
Video Submission
Most of the videos will be less than 25mb and should easily fit as an attachment to an email. However, the ideal and free method to submit is to use wetransfer.com. This is the easiest solution and offers no maximum file size. It is a great way to submit any file to someone without having to submit a share link to the cloud. You can also load up your MP4 file on google drive (or similar) and give us access to the file to download and play from our server.
